he MV Edinburgh set sail from Cape Town around midday on 17 August, bound for Tristan da Cunha. On this voyage, the vessel is carrying 11 passengers along with a wide range of essential supplies for the island.
The cargo includes government and community consignments, food and household goods for the island shop, medical and school supplies, mail and parcels, as well as building materials, spare parts, and fuel.
Upon arrival at Tristan, and once unloading and passenger disembarkation are complete, the Edinburgh will begin her fishing operations for the season. She will operate around the outer islands in support of the rock lobster fishery, a cornerstone of the local economy.
As always, the timing of arrival and landing operations will depend on weather conditions. Cargo will be transferred ashore by raft and distributed through the usual channels.
The Tristan da Cunha community is looking forward to welcoming passengers and receiving the much-needed stores that the Edinburgh continues to deliver.
